homeschool record keepingI think one thing that a lot of people worry about when homeschooling is keeping records of grades, attendance, and classes. This can especially be a great worry as kids get older. I have been introduced to a great website that can help you to simplify it and take the worries and stress out of homeschool record keeping.  Applecore has created a fabulous systemto keep grades, attendance, portfolios, and records of all of your kids.

I have tried a lot of different record keeping options in the years I have been homeschooling. I have always found them a little tedious and time consuming. What I really was impressed with on Applecore is the ease of use. It was so quick and easy to set up my kids in the system. They have video tutorials that help you through the process to help you learn all of the features available. I was especially impressed with the option of creating a printable schedule. I always spend a lot of time planning out my schedules each year and this printable editable calendar is something I am really excited about!!

When you begin you set up your student control panel. The control panel is the starting point for all of your students. You can add an unlimited umber of students, so if you have a larger family, you don’t have to pay per student.  From there you can add or edit their classes, grades, attendance, etc.

After setting up your students, you can add in their courses. There are options for lower and upper grades. There are also options for classes with refits or no credits. For high schoolers you can add in that they are AP, Honors, Dual-Enrollment, etc. They have pre-made class options to choose from, or you can add in your own class if it is not listed in the options.

Once you have added in all of your student’s classes, it will look something like this next image. From there you can add in any more needed information. You can log on and add in assignments, grades, attendance and any other options you need.
