We Choose Virtues ~ Homeschool Giveaway

How do you teach your children character and virtues?  I have come across a lovely program to do just that called We Choose Virtues. We have been using it for a few years now and I really love the values it teaches my children. I had the opportunity to review the homeschool program of it this past month and get to give one set to one of you! It is not a curriculum or a unit study, but a new set of teachings that you instill regularly (10 minutes each day). Virtues are learned by example and practice and We Choose Virtues helps you do that!

We Choose Virtues is a fun and easy way to teach kids important values about character. It uses a set of cards with 12 different virtues. The cards have a little character with a story, a lesson, a Bible verse (there is a non-religious version available, too), teachable moments, and a challenge to help them practice the virtue. Along with the cards are some other fun resources to help kids remember the virtues.  The 12 virtues covered are: Patience, Diligent, Helpful, Perseverant, Gentle, Content, Attentive, Honest, Kind, Self-Controlled, Obedient, and Forgiving.

How we have been using We Choose Virtues:

My daughter especially adores this program. We have been practicing the virtues in our house by reading the cards together daily during our devotional time. We usually spend about 2 weeks on each card to really learn the catch phrase.  We read the story and then work on the different user challenges together. Then we put our stickers on the chart to mark off what we have accomplished.  My two little ones love to color the pictures from the printable coloring book of the character that we are studying. We have also really enjoyed using the flashcard game to practice the different catch phrases. It is funny because during the day I find myself repeating them at different times to help them remember different virtues when needed. It truly is a lovely program and I have been so pleased with it! It is definitely something that has improved our family culture.

  1. Our daughters can be less patient than they should, and less content. This would be such a helpful resource to help guide them, thank you for the chance to win.
