Elephant Watering Can Garden Craft

Are you enjoying your summer?  I have a fun summer garden craft for you.  My kids have really been having fun with this little garden craft. This will have your kids begging to water the garden…  It is an elephant watering can made out of milk jugs!  It is very simple to make.

To Make an Elephant Watering Can:

2 Milk jugs, rinsed out
Craft foam
2 Googly eyes
A hot glue gun
Cut the handle off one of the milk jugs- this will be the trunk of your elephant.  Make sure to leave a bit of an edge around the ends.  On one end, cut little slits.
These slits are going to wrap around the milk cap.  Save one of the milk caps and cut a hole in it so the water can pour through.  Glue the cap into the end that you cut the slits, wrapping it around the cap.
Mine looks pretty messy- I kept burning my fingers.  (Try not to do this!)
To make your elephant, cut ears out of craft foam, and two circles to put behind the googly eyes.  Glue all of these on with the hot glue gun as well.  When the glue from the cap has cooled, you can screw on the trunk.
To fill the can, remove the trunk and fill with water.
Little brother really wants to get in on the action…
Watering Mom’s plants is so much more fun now!
What kind of paren crafts are you making this summer??
