Milk Cap Math Games

This post may contain affiliate links.

I have been saving our milk caps… for a while. I figured I could do something fun with them.  Well, this past week we got to 25 milk caps, so I figured it was plenty for a fun project. I decided to make a milk cap math game. On the top of the milk caps, I wrote the numbers, 1-25.

We have some number flash cards that we lined up in order, then we matched the milk cap numbers with the cards. It was great number practice for my preschooler.  Plus, my first grader enjoyed helping her!

There are so many more things you could do with this.  The blog Love2Learn2Day has some other fun ideas that I liked.   I also though it would be fun to do an alphabet set as well. (Spelling games?)  However, my kids want the numbers to go all the way to 100 first.  They think it would be so cool!

I also just discovered- thanks to Google this cute site- Tot School that has some fun milk cap printables. She has some alphabet games and some number games that go along with her milk caps sets.  Very cute!

Maybe this will get your mind going & thinking of all the fun things you can do with bottle caps- you could substitute any kind, really… So, start saving those bottle caps!

  1. Wow, what a fun idea! I was on Skype talking to my grandson. He was drinking and I said that I wanted some. He told it was behind me (on the counter) then he said “mommy, grammy has pink milk” What he meant was that our milk had a pink lid. I thought that was both funny and observant. So now thanks to you I know what to do with the pink and blue and yellow lids….

  2. Great idea! I save recyclable materials like mad for all sorts of activities we might be able to use them for one day 😉 Drives my husband insane…but there are always just great uses for them! Thanks for sharing at BTT!!
