When I choose books for my kids I make the selections carefully. I like to have books that teach, books that are fun, and for the little ones, books that are entertaining and that they can interact with. I have had the chance to review the book Noah’s Noisy Zoo this month from Tommy Nelson. It is a darling board book for your littlest ones. And… I have one to give away to a lucky reader! (I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated and all opinions are my own.)
Noah’s Noisy Zoo is called “A Fit Together Shape Book”. When you open it up, you can see what that means. The animals are all made of different shapes. On one side of the book the shapes are standing out from the page and not he opposite page the shapes are cut out so the two pages fit together. This makes it fun and tactile for the kids as there is a lot of texture to touch and feel while reading.
The images and illustrations in this book are so adorable. It was illustrated by Stuart Lynch. His cartoony characters are really cute! Each page has an animal and the noise it makes: Screeching Monkeys, Hooting Owls, etc. It ends with all of the animals two by two safe inside Noah’s Noisy Zoo.
This is a perfect board book for my little girl who is 1 1/2. She loves the animals and hearing their noises. She loves touching them and feeling the cut-outs on each page.
