I am thrilled to share a great product with you guys today.  You may have heard of it- I have seen it on a few other Homeschooling blogs and been really excited about trying it.  ~ We Choose Virtues ~

We Choose Virtues is a teaching tool to help instill virtues in children. It can be used in families or schools.   They have a faith-based set and a non-faith set.  So, if you want to incorporate faith into your virtue study you  can- which I LOVE!  On the website, there is a character assesment that can be used in your family or classroom to see which virtues need to be focused on the most.

They have a variety of products to choose from on their website: Classroom kits, Homeschool kits, Church kits, Family sets, Posters, Journals, Coloring books, Teaher’s handooks, etc.  I love how they tailor it for all the different needs.

I have been given the Faith-Based Parenting Cards to try out with my family.  We have been using them for a little while now and are loving them so much.  I like to do a morning devotional with my kids each day as we begin school.  These Virtue cards have fit in so nicely with our devotional.  So far we have covered 2 of the virtues: Self Control and Obedience.

Each card has a little character that teaches the message, it has a scripture to go along with the virtue, some teaching ideas and goal setting ideas. There are 12 different virtues covered in these cards.  It has really helped our family to have an important virtue to focus on and work on.  We are spending a whole month on each virtue so we can really practice it and learn from it.  By the end of the month the kids really know it and understand it.

Just as I was writing this, my son was asked to do something, but complained about it.  My daughter yelled from the other room “Remember, OBEDIENCE!”  It made me smile knowing that they are remembering these virtues and taking them to heart!

  1. The product I like best is the 3 rules poster. Probably because we’re really working on all 3 of those rules right now & that would be a great thing to display to remind them!
