My kids have read the Harry Potter books so many times, I am not sure we could count. If you have kids who are also big fans of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, then this fun escape room is for you!

This Harry Potter themed escape room is based on Harry’s third year at the Hogwart’s school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K Rowling.

Puzzle #3 Character/Plot Puzzle~ In this activity, kids are given 9 cards with character names and plot details to match up.

Puzzle #4 Herbology~ This puzzle has students read an article on magical plants and answer questions about them correctly.

Puzzle #5 Close Reading and Literary Analysis~ Students will read an excerpt from the book and answer comprehension questions focused on comprehension, literary analysis and vocabulary. (Must have the book to complete this section!)

For each of the puzzles, kids will be given a set of letters to unscramble leading them to the final secret phrase to solve! The first person or team to solve the scrambled words wins!

Does this not sound like so much fun?! My kids sure were excited about it and loved using it. I hope your kids or students will have just as much fun!

  1. Even the adults could not figure out the Character plot puzzle, not even an adult with a BA degree with an emphasis in English. There was no answer for it. The clue at the end was too easy to give out at the beginning because every team had solved it without unscrambling anything or getting any letters to unscramble. The herbology has them solve a large passage that had nothing to do with the next page of questions. I would definitely like my money back.
