My Story: Joseph and My Story: David written by Fiona Boon and illustrated by Nadine Wikenden and published by Thomas Nelson are part of a fun new series of Bible story books about Bible heroes called My Story. They are told in first from the perspective of the heroes themselves. The heroes in these fun stories come to life in the minds of the children through darling animations and themed stickers to go along with each book. At the back they have little sticker journals that kids can fill in with their stickers.  We were lucky to receive 2 of the books in the series, Joseph and David. They have made for some happy children in our home!

With his coat of many colors and abundant faith, Joseph is a favorite character of many children. In My Story: Joseph, the hero tells of his amazing life that so many of us know and love from reading the Bible. His is the story of the coat of many colors, being sold by his brothers as a slave int Egypt, being put into prison, and eventually reuniting with his brothers.  Kids will learn from Joseph’s story to always trust God, no matter what the circumstance, because He will see them through. They also learn about forgiveness.

Children have long heard and loved the story of David and Goliath, but they’ve never heard it straight from the young hero’s mouth! In My Story: David, the young shepherd boy with enormous faith tells kids about his choice to fight the Philistine soldier mocking the tribes of Israel. Children will learn that trust in God helps them to do great things, no matter their size! They will learn courage and bravery!

  1. My kids favorite bible story changes with learning. Having said that, Noah’s Ark is always a favorite because of the animals. How in the world Noah got all those animals on that Ark is the primary question. The elementary question is, how in the world did Noah and the rest of the gang deal with that smell, and finally, the mature kids want to know what else was Noah doing during all of that time that the ship was at sea.
