Building Electric Circuits: STEM Challenge Cards

If you are looking for a fun and easy way to teach about circuits, I have just the thing for you. I made a set of cards to help you in your teaching!  These Building Electric Circuits cards are perfect for a STEM challenge, or for technology lessons and activities.

What’s Included in the Building Electric Circuits Set?

This set of 8 STEM challenge cards includes the following activities:

• Make a Circuit with Lemons
• Make a Conductivity tester
• Make a Graphite Circuit
• Make a Paper Circuit
• Make a Simple Circuit
• Measure Electricity
• Make a Series Circuit
• Make a Parallel Circuit

Each card has a diagram showing how to build the circuit. It also includes a supply list, and instructions. They are a little open-ended for some of them, allowing kids to choose their supplies when building the circuits. Once you give kids a basic knowledge of how circuits work, they will be able to build and create them in a variety of ways. That’s the fun of these.

You will need to stock up on some supplies for this activity, but if you have been doing STEM activities, you may already have some of these on hand! A few of them you may have around your home already. They are easy to find at a hardware store or online. Most of these can be used for multiple projects, too!

LED Pin Lights
3V Coin Cell Batteries
9V Batteries
AA Batteries
Alligator Clips
Copper Wire
Other Small Light Bulbs (Christmas lights would work)
Small Battery Pack
Zinc Nails
Lemons
Pencil & Paper
