Homemade Photo Cube Gift

With Father’s Day coming up this week my kids & I wanted to make a gift for their Dad. We recently had some new pictures done and I thought it would be fun to do a gift with one of the photos that he could have on his desk at work. The kids and I made a photo cube puzzle out of wooden blocks.  The fun thing about this craft is that it could be made for Mom, Dad or for the kids as a gift. It is really versatile.

How to Make the Photo Cube:

This photo cube puzzle was fun and really easy to put together. I used a set of six wooden cubes that I found at a craft store.  I had the kids paint the cubes in three different colors.

Once the cubes were dry, I put them all together and secured them with a rubber band.  I taped them on with double sided tape to keep them un place while I cut them.

We used a standard 5 x 7 size photo, but I had to trim it just a little to make it work.

I sliced them down the middle with a razor blade cutter.   Once they were cut, I secured the photo sections with some wood glue to make sure they stick on there really well. You could cover the whole thing with some mod lodge, too to make them more durable.   On the front side, I used letter stickers and wrote the word Dad (one letter on each block.

I  think it turned out pretty well. My kids are so excited to give it to their dad!
