I Am a Woman

This is a poem I wrote a few years back about women. I thought I would share it here for Mother’s Day coming up. Women need to be celebrated for the beautiful creatures that we all are. So, as we look forward to this Sunday, remember, that whether or not you are a mother, remember that you are a beautiful woman. This day is not just about motherhood, but sisters, daughters, and wives.  Enjoy!

I Am a Woman

I am a daughter, a wife and a mother.
I am a sister, a woman am I.
I am a daughter.
I’m loved by my mother.
I’ve learned from her what a woman should be.

I am a woman,
A woman of virtue,
Faithful to values of honor and truth.
I am a sister,
A sister of many.
Sisters bring joy, they are true friends indeed.

I am a woman,
A woman of peace,
Offering comfort and sharing a tear.
I am a wife,
Giving love to my husband
Sharing respect in a perfect union.

I am a woman,
A woman of beauty.
Woman are beautiful outside and in.
Now I’m a mother,
I have my own daughter.
I need to be an example to her.

Teach her of women,
Of value and honor,
Teach her to find her own beauty within.
I am a daughter, a wife and a mother.
I am a sister, a woman am I.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the sisters, mothers, wives and daughters in the world.
