We love movies that teach values and lessons to our kids. I am quite selective about the shows that I let me kids watch, so I love it when I can find a wonderful show for them that everyone approves of. The Hermie and Friends movies by Max Lucado are wonderful! We have had one of the other hermit and Friends movies for a while and my kids were absolutely thrilled that we got to review another one in the series. As a member of the Tommy Mommy review team, I received a free copy of the movie I Will Trust in God to review here. I also get to give a copy to one of you! Be sure to enter below.
I Will Trust God is a Hermie and Friends DVD by Max Lucado for kids ages 2 and up. It is 90 minutes with two mini episodes.
The first episode, Hermie and the High Seas, is a story similar to the story of Noah. It is a sunny day in the garden and God asks Hermie to build a boat without telling him why. The other bugs in the garden choose not to help Hermie and even make fun of him for his choice. They are too busy for such foolish things! When the rain comes and the garden begins to flood, all of the bugs run to Hermie’s boat. Everyone in the garden needs to learn to trust in God, even if it may not make sense.
In the second episode, Who is in Charge Anyway, yhe ladybug’s TV explodes. She calls on Freddie the flea to fix it. The little kid ladybugs ask their mother what is special about fleas? Their mother tells them about special traits of all different bugs. Freddie the flea and the others learn that God gave everyone their own unique gifts and talents. But what is special about a flea? Freddie has to learn to trust that God has given him his own talents and has a special plan for him. God didn’t make anybody by accident, and He’s not finished with any of us yet!
Both of these episodes combine to teach a valuable lesson of trusting in God no matter what!! Your kids will love it just as much as mine do.
