Need help keeping cool in this heat? We are trying hard -it is HOT, HOT, HOT where we live!!!
Today’s post is a very simple, but fun summer activity! Get a pan and fill it with some water and a few water-proof toys. Stick it in your freezer overnight, and let your kids figure out how to get all of the toys out.
The next day, when they were frozen solid, they were ready to get to work!
First they tried banging them with rocks… it didn’t work too well. They tried dumping salt on it- and it didn’t work fast enough. Eventually, they took the hose to them. This worked really quickly!
I surprised my kids after they put their toys in. I added in some letters to spell their names and their age. I told them there was a secret message and they had to figure it out. They really liked this!

I think I might give this idea a try for tomorrows spelling lessons. We were over 105 degrees today (way too hot for my liking!). What a fun engaging activity Karyn! Thanks for linking up to my Enchanted Thursdays Blog Hop!

So fun! We recently did Ice boats, which my kids definitely enjoyed. Maybe I’ll give this idea a try too! Stay cool out there… 🙂
