Any activity that includes dirt, water, rocks and random things you can find on the ground would be a hit with my daughter and probably most kids. Add reading and learning to that and you’ve got a hit with most parents :).

I love activities like this – where kids can act out the story they just read (or heard). My daughter probably would have just made mud with the materials, lol!
