Valentine Learning: Language Arts Broken Hearts

For Valentine’s Day, we changed things up a little and did some Valentine learning ideas! Â I made a set of language arts broken hearts with homonyms, synonyms, and antonyms.Â
How to Do This Fun Valentine Learning Activity:
I cut a whole bunch of hearts in three colors and cut them in half. Each type was done in a different color so he could tell them apart. He had to match up the two words that go together like little puzzles. It really helped him to understand the concept. He also learned a few new words in the process. Plus, we had fun doing it together!
I used the following words for our Language Arts Broken Hearts Activity:
Synonyms (words that mean the same/similar thing)
Antonyms (words that are opposites)
Homonyms (words with the same sound, but different meaning)
You could do this concept with lots of other things, too-Â matching up the same words or letters for beginning readers, math facts problem on one half, answer on the other. The possibilities are endless!
