Reading is such a critical thing in this world, but it is often a challenge to make it enjoyable for kids. I have made reading part of our family culture and because of that the kids really WANT to learn to read well. One thing I have tried to do most is to make reading fun for my kids. I have always made sure to have lots of enjoyable reading material for them that they want to read. Magazines have always been a big hit in our house. We have had several different magazine subscriptions for the kids over the years. Magazines are really a great way to help kids have fun with reading. We received a free bundle of Fun for Kidz magazines to check out this month and review for you. They were an instant hit in our house! (This is a sponsored post. I am being paid for my time in writing this post but all thoughts are my own.)
Make Reading Fun With Magazines!!
Kid magazines give are filled with things that the kids are interested in and have vibrant pictures and fun activities. Anytime we get a magazine in the mail my kids rush (and often fight) to read it first. They want to read it cover to cover. They want me to help them complete any puzzle or activity inside of it. They are motivated and excited by it. Magazines motivate my kids in a different way than books do. The Fun for Kidz magazines did not disappoint my kids. They are ad-free, wholesome, fun and have family values. They are filled with interesting things to make reading fun for kids. From the moment we opened our package full of magazines, my kids were sprawled across the chairs and couches in the living room reading!
The Fun for Kidz magazines have three different magazine options. There is Hopscotch, which is aimed at elementary-aged girls, Boys’ Quest is for boys ages 6-14 and then they have the general Fun for Kidz magazine which works for all kids. There is no inappropriate teen content or violence. They are packed with award-winning stories, arts, crafts, puzzles, games, pen pal clubs, science, math, cooking and more. I really liked the content of these magazines and so did my kids. They learned but also had fun with them.
Magazines for Reluctant Readers
If you have a child who is struggling to find the joy of reading, magazines are a great way to start. They can read things that interest them. The stories are shorter so they don’t have to focus for as long as a whole book or chapter. They are interspersed with things to do making in into an experience. Magazines have large, full color pictures on every page, keeping their interest longer.
Magazines as Gifts
Last year, I gave a magazine subscription to my daughter as a Christmas gift, and she has been enjoying it all year long! They are a small expense to last the whole year through. In my opinion, it is worth it to see the joy and excitement when my kids get mail that they can’t wait to READ! I love gifting magazine subscriptions to my kids. They would make great gifts for friends and other family members, too.

Also, you can buy single copies of past magazines for $7.95 each. If you order 5 single issues, you can get 2 more free. Stop by their website to see the deal.
