Disney is a brand we all know and love. They have launched a new learning brand for families with kids in the 3-8 age range called Imagicademy. Their goal is to help kids be excited to learn through imagination and creativity. What they have created is a series of Disney apps that build on each other to teach concepts in playful ways. There is not rote memorization or repetition, just pure fun learning! They have a community for parents to explore and get ideas for hands-on learning, learn about Disney events and books and magazines. These new apps are available exclusively for the iPad. We have been trying out 2 different ones: Mickey’s Magical Math World and Disney Imagicademy: Parents.
In Mickey’s Magical Math World, kids get to join Mickey and his pals on a fun Space adventure that explores math concepts within a playground of magical experiences. They practice counting, shapes, adding, problem solving, and more. My littles are just loving it!
Kids can identify shapes with Mickey’s Rocket Build, play with numbers and patterns within Minnie’s Robot Playground; practice early number concepts with Donald’s Alien Number Line, learn to count to 10 and early problem solving with Donald’s Sleepwalking Aliens and experiment with shapes, patterns and sorting skills with Goofy.
It has been a great app for my preschooler to practice counting!
Disney Imagicademy: Parents is an all-new free app that offers parents a resource to connect with the Imagicademy community and gather ideas that can be used to engage with their child in meaningful ways. I have loved exploring the different things on this app. It is full of useful information and ideas. There are daily activities and articles that can inspire parents to spend meaningful time with their kids. You can also connect to Mickey’s Magical Math World through the parents app and see what the kids have been up to and encourage them.
If you are looking for some fun new ways to help your kids get excited about learning, you should definitely check these apps out! They are both free, however the Mickey one does have in-app purchases.
