How to Make a Playful Peekaboo Math Game Kids Will Adore

Last week the peekaboo math game was created. I just love how this turned out, and we really enjoyed playing with it! I couldn’t wait to share it with you.
Today is the start of a 5-day series of 5 Hands-On Math Games and activities. I am SO excited about this series and can’t wait to share all of my ideas!

I have been saving diaper wipes flip tops for a while. We use the Kirkland brand of wipes from Costco. There are other wipes packages that are similar, though. Every time I finish a package of diaper wipes, I peel off the little flip top and tuck it away with my stash of stored trash for crafting. I just didn’t know why. My kids kept asking what they were for and I kept saying I did not know. 🙂 I had an idea formulating in my head and it finally worked out.
How To Make the Peekaboo Math Game:
Along with the diaper wipes tops, I also used magnetic tape (double-sided tape would work, too). We stuck them to a dry erase board. On the front of the lids I wrote math problems with a WET erase marker.
Open the lids and write the answers inside with a DRY erase marker.
Allow space for the child to write their own answers nearby.
Once they complete the math problems, they can open them to check their work.
This little peek-a-boo math game could be modified and used with any subject, really! I envision vocabulary games or matching games, etc. Put pictures on the front instead of writing on them and open up to have words that go with the pictures.
