Pinterest for Homeschool

Pinterest has become quite a popular place these days. I use it all the time to find creative ideas to use in our homeschool. I love seeing other creative minds at work! It inspires me to do more hands-on learning ideas with my kids and gives me ideas for fun projects. Today I am going to share with you how I use Pinterest for homeschool.

Homeschooling with Pinterest

I have my Pinterest boards set up by category based on homeschool subject. I have a general Homeschool Ideas board for anything educational that doesn’t quite fit into one specific category. When I first started using Pinterest, I had just one board where I pinned everything homeschool related. It started getting too full to easily find the ideas that I pinned in the past, so I divided them out by subject. The great part about having them this way is that when I need an idea for a new science experiment, I check out my Science Fun for Kids board (one of my all time favorites!) and find all kinds of fun things that I have pinned to remember for later.

I have a few favorite boards (besides my Science one listed above) that I visit very regularly for ideas:

history and geography for kids

language arts for homeschooling

I am also a part of a lot of collaborative boards that I go to for inspiration like my Blogging Homeschoolers board. A collaborative board is when there are multiple people who pin to it. These are really fun because it is full of  more than just the pins I put in there. One of my all time favorite boards is a collaborative board by Pinterest for Teachers I am a part of that is called Homeschool. It has some fabulous stuff!!

I started using Pinterest several years ago and still love popping in there regularly. I often let my kids scroll through the boards with me to see what interests and excites them. We will go there when we want to get an idea for an art or science project for new fun books to read, for preschool ideas for my little one, and for free worksheet ideas. I search for ideas on a certain subject we are learning about and always find something good!  I am SO glad to have so much information and so many fun ideas for teaching right at my fingertips!  I really think that Pinterest has made homeschooling more fun!!

Besides homeschooling, I use Pinterest the most for Recipes.
Check out my Family Recipes board if you need some good food inspiration!
