Hey! It's just the traditional serving sizes for each. For grains it is 1/2 cup cooked, beans are also 1/2 c. cooked, leafy greens are a 1 c. serving and other vegetables 1/2 cup. The serving size for nuts is 1 ounce.

In reply to <a href="https://teachbesideme.com/plant-based-eating/#comment-369479">Amy</a>.

I am still doing great. The rest of my family has never been totally on board. However, they have been slowly learning and understanding things. It is making an impression on them. I have the philosophy that you should never force another person (who is old enough to decide for themselves) to your chosen lifestyle. I let my kids make the choice of what they will eat when we eat out, but what I make at home is mostly plant-based. I will make meat for my family about once a week. They are surprisingly ok with that. :) Good luck!!

It looks like it has been over a year since you posted about this and I was just wondering how you were doing with it and how your family is doing with it? I'm slowly transitioning over but it is really hard especially with kids/teenagers. Thanks!

Love the "Protein in Plant Foods" graphic; it's laid out perfectly. I may have missed it but I didn't see what the serving size was for each item. If you could share that, it would be very appreciated. Thanks. :)

Thank you for your post. I would love to buy the poster on Protein as I have to give a presentation University Students about the benefits of healthy eating and I would like to show them other places to get protein. Could you let me know if it is possible to buy the posters?

I have also been making the move towards plant based foods. It's a slow pace, but I'm already feeling the benefits of what I've managed to get to. I regularly watch several raw foodists on youtube { there are a heap of them out there }. I have learnt so much about nutrition this way.
