Please and Thank You

The Berenstain Bears books always have stories with such a nice message. They are great family-friendly books. We have a big collection of their books and we love reading their stories together at our house. This past month we got one of their newest books The Berenstain Bear’s Please and Thank You Book by Mike Berenstain.  (Many thanks to Propeller Consulting, LLC for providing this book for review and giveaway here!)  I also made a little Please and Thank You copywork freebie to go along with the book. Stan and Jan Berenstain wrote the original series of Berenstain Bear books starting in the 1960’s.  In 2012, the Berenstain Bear family celebrated its 50th anniversary. Stan and Jan have since died, but their son has carried on the legacy, and I am so glad he has!

The Please and Thank You Book is by Mike Berenstain, the son of Stan and Jan. It is a board book so it is great for your little ones! As is typical with the bear family, it teaches good qualities in the form of a fun story. This book teaches manners by helping the little bears learn to say please, thank you, and you’re welcome.  I loved this book just as much as the other bear stories we have. My kids liked it so much that it disappeared after the first reading!  Books in our house that disappear are usually found in someone’s bed being read again and again. 🙂

Since the words Please and Thank You are so important and something I constantly drill into my kids’ heads, I decided to make simple copywork pages to go along with the story. This can help kids with spelling and writing. There are two pages. The first is just the words themselves and the second uses them in sentences.
