What is Leap Year, why does it happen, and what makes February 29 so special? 📅

Help kids learn about Leap Year with this printable mini book and keepsake time capsule! Kids can read fun facts and myths about Leap Year, then record a snapshot of their own lives to look back on when the next Leap Year arrives.

All About Leap Year Mini Book

The 10-page mini book introduces kids to Leap Year through interesting facts and stories.

The book is included in two versions:

• Full color
• Black and white for kids to color

Choose whichever works best for your family or classroom—or use the black-and-white version to add a little coloring and creativity to the lesson.

Leap Year Time Capsule

Also included is a Leap Year About Me Time Capsule for kids to complete.

Children answer questions about themselves and record details about their lives right now. There’s even a place to trace their handprint so they can compare how much they’ve grown when the next Leap Year comes around four years later!

Save the completed pages somewhere special and pull them out again on the next February 29.
