Alphabet Rock Art

My kids collect rocks every time we go on a walk or hike. I started putting them into a jar because I couldn’t keep up with their collection.
This week we decided to make the rock collections into art. I painted some with the letters of the alphabet. The kids had fun painting theirs into animals and other art creations.
How to Make Alphabet Rocks:
We used acrylic paints to paint these alphabet rocks. Â You’ll also need some very tiny paint brushes to make the details.
As you can see I did several layers on my letters to give them more color and interest. To make the different layers paint one layer then let it dry before starting another layer.
Once completed you’ll want a clear vanish coat over the top to keep it from flaking or peeling off. This will help them last much longer!

Those are soooo fun! Love that idea! My son has just starting collection pressed pennies (like you get at tourist attractions). I’m just thankful they’re small and don’t take up too much room. Haha! Stopping by from the Friday Blog Hop, love the site!
Love this idea!!! I’m going to make some for my preschool class. They will love it!
