Skittles Math- With Printable

Remember my M&M math post a while back?  I was excited when I came across this Skittles Riddles Math book by Barbara McGrath, because I knew we could have lots of fun with it!  We all know learning is more fun with candy, so Skittles math sounded great to me & my kids.

Skittles Math from Teach Beside Me

The Skittles Riddles Math book is geared towards kids a little older. It discusses fractions and negative numbers, so if your kids understand those concepts, this is a fun one!  If not, you can still have fun teaching it to them. We read the book together with a bag of Skittles in hand to do the little problems. I also made a simple little printable to go along with it. It is great if you do not have the book since it covers some of the same ideas.

In the book it gives lots of fun little riddles throughout the book, hence the name. It also teaches a few basic math concepts such as greater than and less than, number sentences with addition and subtraction, number lines and negative numbers, fractions, adding fractions, and reducing fractions.

My printable that I made has 4 pages covering Greater than & Less than, Addition, and Fractions. My kids loved doing it.  It is available to purchase in my shop!
