The War Room is a movie about prayer. Are you a praying person? I am and I do not think I could survive life without it. In this movie, they learn the same lesson.
The War Room movie follows the story of a couple whose marriage is struggling, but they seem to have everything else going for them. The wife, Elizabeth works in real estate and meets a new client named Miss Clara who changes her life. Miss Clara has a small room that she calls a War Room where she prays and fights her battles in life. She writes out scriptures that help her with her challenges and puts them on the wall. She challenges Elizabeth to do the same and find a place free of distractions to pray and fight her own challenges. (I received a free copy of the movie and the soundtrack in exchange for this review, however all thoughts are my own.)
As Elizabeth begins to pray and soften her tone with her husband she sees changes happen in her life, in her relationships, and in her marriage. She has to fight the REAL enemy with prayer. Her husband is not the enemy. She learns that she can only work on herself and get Satan out of her own life.
The War Room was created by the same people who created the movies Fireproof and Courageous. I really enjoyed both of those movies, so I was really excited for the chance to watch this one! It also came highly recommended by many friends. I was not disappointed. It is a beautiful story and was very touching and inspiring to me.
After watching this movie, I reevaluated the way I pray. I want to take the time to write down my prayers and focus more on them. When I pray with real focus and LISTEN for answers, they are so much more meaningful and work much better!! If you are looking for a way to be better at praying, this is a great movie to watch!
