Toys That Encourage Creativity

We all want to raise creative kids, but how do we do that? There are a lot of things we can do to encourage creativity in our kids. I have learned a few things over the years about how to do that. A huge part of raising creative kids, in my mind is choosing toys that encourage creativity. I am really careful in selecting toys for my kids.

Bunchems- Toys that encourage creativity

We have a new set of toys that are really pushing my kids’ creative sides! Have you heard of Bunchems before? We got two sets of them to try out and share with you here. When these came in the mail, my kids  played with them for hours! We got the traditional Bunchems and also the Bunchems Alive sets.

Bunchems are a cool new toy that encourage creative building and playing. They are little balls that are fashioned after nature. You know those little burrs that get stuck on your shoes?  They are like a mix between those and velcro!  They have lots of colors and you can bunch them all together to make so many things. There are ENDLESS possibilities, really!

They also have these fun little accessories that fit into the small holes on each end of the Bunchems. There are arms, eyes, hats, feet, and more! This allows you to really get creative and build so many things!  We have built lots of animals, bugs, monsters and other critters.

They come with instructions and some ideas to build. This is great to help you get started. But once you realize all of the fun stuff you can do, you can use your imagination to come up with your own ideas!  The Bunches Alive set comes with a ball that you can attach the Bunchems to. When turned on it vibrates making your creation wiggle and move!  It’s so much fun!

A word of caution, though1 Make sure your kids have their hair pulled back from their faces before playing with these toys.  Here is a brief safety video to help you if they get caught in your hair. (It does happen, & I was easily able to remove it). For the best experience, you will want to play on hard surfaces to avoid entanglement on any hair, fur or carpets.

Bunchems was awarded the 2016 Toy of the Year Award for Activities!

There are many kinds of toys that encourage creativity. This is one great option that we have been enjoying. Have you tried them yet?
