US Geography: Alaska

US Geography has never been quite so fun to teach.  Have you been following my series?  We are moving through the states one at a time at our house and today I have the Alaska geography printable pack ready for you to dive into. My daughter is just eating these printables up. She literally reminds me all the time to make the next state for her!  I am loving it.

Alaska is such a cool state and she loved learning about it. I still have not had the chance to visit Alaska, but can’t wait to some day! My goal is to make it to all of the states in the U.S. at some point. I only have a few left to go! Now I need to start taking my kids around the country.

This printable pack requires the use of some sort of atlas or informational source to answer the questions in them.  The books we are using to study the different states are the following:  The 50 States by Gabrielle Balkan & National Geographic Kids United States Atlas.

We also adore this series of books by Carol Crane, Discover America State by State-  L is for Last Frontier: An Alaska Alphabet.

What’s included in the Alaska Geography Unit?

These printable packs have 7 pages of activities for each states. There are some coloring pages, some fill in the blank pages, drawing the states, labeling the cities, an Alaska map to color, & a state landmark to color.  They are a fun way to introduce the states to kids and help them learn to use the atlas, too! I have completed a general US Geography pack and Alabama Geography already if you want to collect and use them all.
