Last week, I had so much fun participating in the Virtual Curriculum Fair hosted by Homeschooling Hearts and Minds.  I hope some of you had a chance to visit some of the other great posts that were shared!  This week is all about Math & Science~ Discovering Patterns.

Math Curriculum We are Using:

For my Kindergartner we are using the Singapore Kindergarten Math and she ADORES it!  It is bright and colorful and perfect for her.  I am so glad I made the right choice on this one! Math is her favorite subject right now.

My 2nd grader is using Christian Light Education and Math Mammoth.  He likes to switch between the two of them for variety.  The combination of the two have been great for him.

Science Curriculum We are Using:

We are still using the Apologia Creation series. This year we are studying Zoology 1- The Flying Creatures of the 5th Day.  This has been a big favorite of ours since we started homeschooling.  We also have been using the Jr. Notebooking Journal this year, too.

We are also using Real Science 4 Kids, Chemistry pre-level 1. We really enjoy this series.  It has a simple to understand text with fun experiments to go along with each chapter.

I also have been reading a few fun science related books with my kids- Christian Liberty Nature Readers and Pagoo by Holling C. Holling.

We really love to do math games and use manipulatives.  Math, for me needs to have a hands-on aspect to make it enjoyable and interesting, to make it come to life. We have done lots of fun math learning games in our homeschool.  Here are just a few…

hands-on math

Hundred Chart Math Puzzle
Counting to 100
Place the Digits Math Game
Multiplication Grid Game
Milk Cap Math
Don’t Get Zapped Math Game
Sticker Math
Place Value Flip Chart
One Grain of Rice Math
