Count down to Christmas with this creative Printable Christmas Advent Calendar! 🎄
Kids color, cut, fold, and assemble numbered paper cubes that fit together to create a larger Christmas picture. Each cube can also hold a tiny surprise, scripture, activity, or treat to open as you count down through December.
It’s part Christmas craft, part puzzle, and part Advent calendar!
What’s Included?
The printable file includes 14 pages, including:
- Printable templates for the Advent calendar cubes
- Two cubes per printable page
- Numbered cubes for the Christmas countdown
- Instruction page
- Full image showing how the finished Advent puzzle should look
Kids can color and decorate the cubes before assembling them.
Two Ways to Countdown to Christmas
You can use the calendar in two different ways:
Build it first and take it apart: Assemble the complete Christmas picture, then open the corresponding numbered cube each day.
Build the picture throughout December: Give your child a new cube each day and watch the Christmas picture gradually come together as Christmas approaches.
Either way, the numbered cubes make it easy to keep track of each day.
Fill the Cubes With Christmas Surprises
Customize your Advent calendar by putting something special inside each cube. Try:
- A small piece of candy
- Scripture verses
- Christmas activity ideas
- Acts of kindness
- Family activities
- Notes or messages
- Small treats or surprises
You can easily tailor the countdown to your own family’s Christmas traditions.
Printing & Assembly Tips
For best results, I recommend printing the Advent calendar on cardstock. Regular printer paper works, but the finished cubes can crush easily.

Color the pages first, then carefully cut out each template, fold along the lines, and tape or glue the edges together to create the cubes.
Accuracy matters on this one! The more carefully the cubes are cut and assembled, the better they’ll fit together to create the finished Christmas picture.

This is a digital PDF download. No physical Advent calendar or treats are included.
