Practice counting and number sense by planting a ten-frame garden!
This hands-on printable math activity turns ten-frame practice into a simple garden game. Kids choose a number card and a vegetable card, then “plant” that many vegetables on their ten-frame mat.
What’s Included?
The printable includes:
- Blank ten-frame garden mat
- Number cards 1–10
- 10 of each vegetable for counting and planting
- Larger vegetable cards for choosing what to plant
The six vegetables included are:
- Tomato
- Yellow pepper
- Peas
- Carrots
- Corn
- Pumpkin
How to Play
Place the number cards face down in one pile and the large vegetable cards face down in another.
Kids choose one number and one vegetable, then count out the correct number of vegetables and place—or “plant”—them on the ten-frame garden.
For example, a child might draw 6 + carrots and plant six carrots on the ten frame.
Choose again and keep practicing!
