Help kids recognize, name, and talk about their feelings with this printable Emotional Learning Game for Kids.

Children choose a situation card, think about how that experience might make them feel, and match it with an emotion card.

There isn’t always one right answer! Different children may have completely different emotional responses to the same situation, making this activity a natural way to start meaningful conversations.

What’s Included

This printable set includes:

  • 96 Situation Cards
  • Emotion Cards featuring a variety of feelings
  • 12 different Happy face cards
  • 16 blank Situation Cards
  • 16 blank face cards
  • Sometimes I Feel… writing activity

The blank cards make it easy to customize the activity by adding situations or emotions that are particularly relevant to your children or students.

How to Play

Place the emotion cards face up and shuffle the situation cards.

Choose a situation and ask:

How would this make you feel?

Kids select an emotion card and explain their choice.

Situations include experiences such as meeting new people, accomplishing a goal, being alone in the dark, trying something new, speaking in front of people, swimming, listening to music, and many more.

Use the activity to encourage kids to talk about why they chose an emotion and whether someone else might feel differently in the same situation.
