Multiply and Color: Playing Card Multiplication Practice Printable

Need an easy and engaging way to do some multiplication practice?  Try my Multiply and Color game! This printable multiplication activity uses a deck of playing cards to create hands-on multiplication fact practice kids will actually enjoy. Give kids a break from the regular flashcards and worksheets!

Kids draw cards, solve multiplication problems, and color the matching answer stars on the page as they play. It’s low prep, easy to set up, and perfect for helping students build multiplication fact fluency through repeated practice.

How to Use Playing Cards for Multiplication Practice

Each printable focuses on a multiplication fact family from 2–12.

To play:

  1. Remove face cards and jokers from a standard deck of playing cards.
  2. Shuffle the remaining cards.
  3. Draw one card at a time.
  4. Multiply the card number by the target number on the page.
  5. Find and color the matching answer star.

For example:
On the “Multiply by 6” page, if a child draws a 4 card, they solve:
 4 x 6 = 24

Then they find and color the picture with a 24 on it.

Mixed Multiplication Version

The printable pack also includes a mixed multiplication review page.

For this version, students draw two cards and multiply the numbers together before writing in the correct answers.

This is a great option for students who already know their multiplication facts and are ready for more challenge and review.

Example:
Draw a 7 and a 6:
7 × 6 = 42

Fill in a picture with the answer.
