Looking for printable cursive worksheets to help your kids learn or practice cursive writing? You’re in the right place! Cursive is a beautiful and useful skill that still matters today—even in our digital world. I created these cursive alphabet worksheets to give my own kids the extra handwriting practice they needed, and now you can use them, too.

Whether you’re homeschooling, teaching in a classroom, or just want your child to practice at home, this printable cursive set is simple, clear, and effective.

Why We Still Teach Cursive

Yes, cursive writing is still worth teaching—and here’s why.

Benefits of Learning Cursive

  • Boosts brain development: Cursive improves fine motor skills, cognitive function, and reading fluency.

  • Encourages self-expression: It’s an art form that gives children pride in their writing.

  • Prepares kids for real life: Signing your name, reading historical documents, and writing notes all still require cursive.

  • Helps students with dyslexia and other challenges: The flow of cursive writing can aid those with certain learning differences.

  • Connects generations: Cursive allows kids to read letters, journals, and keepsakes from parents and grandparents.

  • Improves legibility for some learners: My own son struggles with printing but writes beautifully in cursive!

About These Cursive Alphabet Worksheets

These printable worksheets are designed for elementary-aged kids learning cursive for the first time or wanting extra practice.

Each letter of the alphabet includes its own page with:

  • Two lines of uppercase cursive

  • Two lines of lowercase cursive

  • Plenty of room for kids to trace and write on their own

You can print the full set or just select specific letters your child needs to focus on. I often reprint certain pages when my kids need a refresher.

Tip: Print on half-size pages (two per sheet) to save paper and create a mini practice booklet.

Which Cursive Style Is This?

These worksheets follow a Zaner-Bloser style cursive font, which is a popular choice for beginning cursive learners. If you’ve used programs like Zaner-Bloser Handwriting or Handwriting Without Tears, this will feel familiar and compatible.

  1. Why are people these days making capital A look simply like a scaled version of small a!!! All the natural elegance of it is simply lost. If you need the correct font, Cursif (and Cursif & Lignes) is one – where letters are beautifully interconnected with each other in the correct flow and with the right shape.
