Learning Games are pretty much a staple at our house. We love, love, love learning with games. I was invited to review 4 different learning games called BrainBox. BrainBox is a fast-paced memory card game. Each game/box is based on one topic. We received the Inventions, Art, Math, and Science & Nature boxes.  There are A TON of different ones, though!  As I browsed through all of the different ones, my kids were standing over my shoulder begging me to buy more! (American history, World History, Fairy Tales, Alphabet, Geography, Presidents, Animals, Dinosaurs, Shakespeare, Sports, Pictures, etc)

BrainBox- Awesome Learning Games

How to Play BrainBox:

BrainBox Games

The game is simple, but really a lot of fun. Inside the box, there are cards, a dice and a timer. To play, you choose a card, set the timer and study that card for 10 seconds (until the timer runs out). When you are out of time, another player takes your card. The back side has questions related to what you studied on the front of the card. You roll the dice and the number rolled is corresponds with which question you will be asked. If you get the answer right, you keep the card. If not, it is put back into the box. The person with the most cards (after a predetermined number of rounds) wins the game.

Who Can Play BrainBox:

The BrainBox games we received were all recommended for ages 8+. However we played it with my 4-year-old as well as my older kids. We just helped him along and he had just as much fun as the older kids!  They do make preschool-level BrainBoxes, too, though! I think it would make a great gift for him…

Playing BrainBox

One cool part about these games is that they can also be a 1-player game. Sometimes it can be a challenge for kids to find someone to play a game with, so these are great for those times. If they play it alone, they just answer the questions on the back on their own.

Our Thoughts on BrainBox:

We LOVED these games!  I love how much they teach us as we play. It is entertaining, and also educational.  I like how easy it is to play. There are no complicated rules and there is nothing to set up.  You can just open it up and start playing!  The cards are thick cardboard, so they will be very durable.  I definitely recommend them.

My 8-year-old daughter says:  “I like it. It’s cool!  My favorite ones are Art and Science.  I would love to get the Fairy Tale one!!!”
