f you want a super easy, low-mess Christmas countdown activity this year, this Christmas Tree Countdown is a perfect option! It takes less than a minute to prep: just print the tree outline, grab a sheet of dot stickers, and let kids add one colorful “ornament” each day until Christmas.

We love it because it’s easy and mess-free!  Kids love it because it’s fun, colorful, and satisfying — they get to decorate their own tree one dot at a time.

This is the kind of easy December activity that works beautifully for preschoolers, early elementary kids, homeschool families, and busy classrooms.

Why You’ll Love This Christmas Tree Countdown

  • Zero prep — print and go

  • Zero mess — just stickers

  • Perfect for fine motor skills

  • No color ink required (print on green paper!)

  • Toddler, preschool, and kindergarten friendly

  • Fun for morning work, centers, countdowns, or quiet time

  • Looks adorable when finished

I printed mine on green cardstock, and it turned out perfectly. The stickers pop beautifully, and kids can still color the star, trunk, and background if they want to.

How to Use the Christmas Tree Countdown

  1. Print the tree page (black & white outline).
I recommend printing on green paper or green cardstock. Or use white and let kids color the tree. Download it below.

  2. Give your child 24–25 dot stickers
(the classic ¾” colored dot stickers work perfectly).

  3. Each day in December starting on December 1st:
-Add one sticker to a circle on the tree
Alternately you could glue a small pom pom or use a bingo dauber

  4. Display it on the fridge, a bulletin board, or a wall.

By Christmas Eve, the tree is fully decorated with colorful ornaments! The star at the top is day 25. Kids can choose to put a sticker, or color it in.
