Did you play the game Connect Four when you were young? It’s a great classic! Â I loved it and have many memories of playing that game. Â Today I have a connect four printable game for you!Â

Over the past little while, I have done a lot of printable games that can easily be done with jut paper and pencil. Â It’s nice to have things that can keep kids busy and entertained. This game will do just that! Â And, you don’t need a screen, except for printing it!
How to Play Connect Four Printable Game:
Connect four is a simple game to play for children. It’s a two-player game and you use two colors of game pieces. Â For this printable template, you do it with two colors of markers or crayons.Â
Typically it has a plastic frame that you take turns dropping your game pieces into. The first person who gets four in a row (of their color) in any direction, is the winner of the game. Â That’s it!Â
Printable Connect Four:

For the printable version of this game, you will do it the same way. However, since you do not have a the frame to drop your game pieces into, you will color in the circles for your turn. Each player will need a different color marker, crayon or colored pencil. When coloring circles in on this game board, you have to start with the bottom row and move up from there.Â
I highly recommend you laminate this game to make it reusable. You can then color it in with dry erase markers. Instead of coloring, kids could also mark their space with buttons, coins, or pom poms. They would just need to have all one color and a different color than their opponent.Â

Make The Connect Four Game into an Educational Resource:
This game is fun and helps kids to think logically. But, you can increase the learning in a few fun ways. Â This game is not a grade specific resource, but you can tailor it to the needs of your kids or students and the subject you are learning.Â
- Make it a spelling practice game. Write sight words or spelling words on the circles. Kids have to read or write them on another sheet of paper when they color it in.
- Turn it into a math game! Write math problems on the circles. Solve the problem as you take your turn.Â
- Make it a review game by writing your own questions onto the game board. They have to answer the question correctly to be able to mark the space.Â
