What Is Halloween Family Feud?

If you’ve ever watched the television game show Family Feud, you already know the basic idea!

Players try to guess the most popular answers to questions. Instead of looking for one correct answer, they’re trying to think of what other people might say.

For example, you might ask:

Name something you might see in a haunted house.

Would most people say a ghost? A spiderweb? A skeleton?

That’s what makes this game so entertaining! Sometimes the most obvious answers are surprisingly hard to think of when you’re put on the spot.

Our Halloween version uses fun, family-friendly questions about costumes, candy, pumpkins, spooky decorations, and other Halloween traditions.

The answers and points in this printable are suggested for gameplay rather than results from an actual survey.

What’s Included in the Free Printable?

The Halloween Family Feud printable includes:

  • 35 Halloween-themed Family Feud questions
  • Suggested answers and point values

How to Play Halloween Family Feud

You can play with two teams, just like the television game show, or adapt the rules for a smaller group.

1. Divide Into Teams

Split your players into two teams. You can have just a few players on each team or include a whole classroom or party group.

Choose one person to be the host. The host reads the questions, checks the answers, and keeps track of points.

2. Start With a Face-Off

Have one player from each team come forward. The host reads the first Halloween Family Feud question aloud. The players race to give an answer from the list.

The player who gives the higher-ranked answer wins the face-off, and their team gets the chance to play the round.

3. Guess the Answers

The team takes turns guessing answers to the question. Each correct answer earns the points shown on the answer sheet. If a player gives an answer that isn’t on the list, the team receives a strike.

After three strikes, the other team gets a chance to steal the round by giving one remaining answer.

4. Award the Points

If the playing team reveals all the answers before receiving three strikes, they win the round’s points. If the other team successfully steals, they receive the points for that round instead.

Keep playing with new questions and add up the scores.

The team with the most points wins!

Play a Halloween Fast Money Round

Want to make the game even more exciting? Finish with a Fast Money round! Choose two players from the winning team. Ask the first player the Fast Money questions and record their answers.

Then ask the second player the same questions without letting them see or hear the first player’s responses. If they repeat an answer, ask them to try another. Add up the points for both players to see whether they can reach your chosen target score.

You can use a timer to make this part feel more like the real game show!

More Ways to Play

One of my favorite things about printable games is how easy they are to adapt.

  • For a classroom Halloween party: Divide the class into teams and let students take turns representing their groups. You can also give teams a few seconds to discuss their answers together.
  • For a family Halloween party: Mix kids and adults on the same teams. You’ll get some hilarious answers when different generations try to guess what everyone else is thinking!
  • For a small group: Skip the face-offs and let players take turns answering questions. Award points for every answer they guess correctly.
  • For younger children: Give them a little extra time to think, or let teammates help with their answers.

You don’t need to follow every rule exactly. The goal is to get everyone participating and having fun.

Tips for Hosting a Halloween Family Feud Game

A little preparation will make the game run smoothly.

Print the questions and answer key ahead of time. Keep the answers hidden from the players so nobody gets an early peek! Choose a host who enjoys reading the questions aloud and keeping the game moving.

You can also use a whiteboard to keep score or display the answers as they’re guessed.

And don’t forget a little Halloween prize for the winning team! It could be a small treat, a Halloween pencil, or simply the satisfaction of being the Family Feud champions.
