Looking for a fun and hands-on preschool Christmas game to go with your holiday lessons? This Roll a Gingerbread Man game is a sweet, low-prep way to bring festive fun into your classroom or home. My kids absolutely loved it — even my 9-year-old joined in and had a blast!
This activity is perfect for family game night, Christmas centers, or story time after reading The Gingerbread Man by Jim Aylesworth. It’s creative, engaging, and easy enough for preschoolers to play independently.

About the Game
This printable game combines holiday crafting with a little dice-rolling excitement. Kids roll the die to collect all the parts of their gingerbread person — the body, face, and decorations. Each round looks different, so it’s fun to play over and over!
The best part? There’s no competition or losing — it’s all about creativity and laughter.
The Gingerbread Man by Jim Aylesworth is a great book to pair with this activity! We love this book!

How to Play: Roll a Gingerbread Man
-
Print and cut out the game pieces and dice.
-
Assemble the die by folding and gluing or taping the tabs.
-
Take turns rolling the die. Each side represents a part of the gingerbread person (body, eyes, bow, buttons, decorations, etc.).
-
When you roll a piece you don’t have yet, add it to your gingerbread man!
-
If you roll something you already have, roll again or choose a new color variation.
Play continues until everyone has completed their gingerbread creation. Every finished cookie will be unique — just like real gingerbread decorating!
