If your kids love I-Spy books as much as mine do, they’re going to adore this colorful collection of printable I-Spy color photo hunts. I created these using toys and objects from around our home—and my kids helped every step of the way! They had so much fun running around, finding objects of specific colors, and helping me arrange and photograph each scene.

Now we’ve turned these playful photos into a beautiful printable bundle so you can use them in your own home or classroom.
What’s Included in the I-Spy Color Hunt Pack?
This full downloadable set includes 10 high-resolution I-Spy photo pages, each one filled with real-life objects organized by color:
- Red
- Orange
- Yellow
- Green
- Blue
- Purple
- Pink
- Black & White
These are perfect for printing as 8.5×11 pages, laminating for durability, and using again and again! You can also bind them into a color hunt book, frame your favorites, or use them in a morning basket or learning center.
Educational Benefits of I-Spy Activities
I-Spy games are more than just fun—they’re full of early learning benefits, especially for preschool and early elementary-aged children:
- Visual discrimination: Helps kids learn to notice small details and differences
- Color recognition: Reinforces learning color names and identifying shades
- Vocabulary development: Encourages naming and categorizing everyday objects
- Attention to detail: Builds focus and concentration skills
- Memory and recall: Strengthens short-term memory as kids try to remember what they’ve already spotted
Plus, when kids are familiar with the kinds of objects shown (like toys, craft supplies, or kitchen tools), it creates a personal connection and makes the activity even more engaging.

How to Use the I-Spy Color Hunt Pack
- Print and laminate the pages to use in a classroom center, quiet time basket, or road trip binder. If you laminate them, put them in a binder or connect with metal rings to make a little book.
- Create a DIY I-Spy book by placing the pages into a small photo album.
- Frame individual pages and hang them in a playroom or homeschool space.
- Use dry-erase markers to let kids circle the items they find on laminated pages.
- Challenge older kids to write down what they find or count how many of each item type is on the page.
These pages are great for quiet time, early finishers, independent play, or a colorful way to start your school day!
Expand the Fun
Want to take this a step further?
- Create your own I-Spy photos with your kids! Pick a color, fill a tray with household items, and snap a photo.
- Pair each page with a color-based scavenger hunt around the house or outside.
- Have children write or dictate a short story about a favorite object they find.

Just found these, and I think they’re great! Good idea and great themes!
It seems that the link for the orange picture is not working well. For all of the other colors, I was able to click on the image to enlarge it, but that wasn’t possible for orange. Would it be possible to fix this?
Thanks!
