Spring is the perfect time to bring some fresh color and hands-on fun into your homeschool or classroom—and these Printable Fraction Flowers are just the thing. This interactive math activity helps kids learn about fractions, build number sense, and practice fraction equivalency in a fun, visual way.
Originally shared as a spring math idea, this post continues to be one of our most popular—and for good reason! Kids love the colorful pieces, and educators love the flexible, low-prep format.

What Are Fraction Flowers?
Fraction Flowers are circular fraction models that kids can cut out, assemble, and explore. They’re perfect for:
- Practicing fraction values from 1/1 to 1/10
- Visualizing how parts make up a whole
- Comparing different-sized pieces
- Exploring fraction equivalence (e.g., 1/2 = 2/4)
You can purchase the printable Fraction Flowers Pack in my shop—it includes fraction circles and stems to make your own math garden!

How to Make the Fraction Flowers:
- Print the fraction circles from the downloadable pack.
- Glue each circle to a paper plate (or cardstock if preferred).
- Once dry, cut apart the pieces along the lines.
- Optional: Attach the included printable stems to turn your circles into fraction flowers.
Your kids can now mix and match petals, rebuild whole circles, and explore different combinations that equal 1.

Ways to Use Fraction Flowers:
- Match & Build: Combine different pieces to make a complete flower using equivalent fractions.
- Sort & Compare: Group by denominator or arrange from largest to smallest pieces.
- Math Centers: Use them in small groups for hands-on reinforcement.
- Bulletin Board Display: Create a colorful spring-themed math wall!
