The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly is a classic favorite among kids! Â I have a fun and easy little craft to go along with it!
Well, speaking of that old lady who swallowed a fly, we have a really cute board book with this story in it that my kids and I have been reading together for years. It has a cut out in the center of the old lady’s belly that continues to grow as you turn the pages showing each critter inside of her belly.
I got the idea to do this craft because I had an empty can from those baby food puffs. When I was looking at it, the shape reminded me of a person. I was trying to think of something I could use it for when this story popped into my head. How perfect! You can put the animals inside of her just like in the story!
I drew the old lady on the empty can with colored Sharpie markers. I cut out her mouth with a razor blade. (Obviously you will have to do this, not your kids). Then I made a printable with some simple clipart images for all of the animals. You can laminate them to make them last longer.
This is a fun thing to keep your little one entertained while you read the story (over & over again)!
