Are you doing anything special to teach about President’s Day?  I have found tons of really fun President’s Day learning ideas online as well as a few that we created at home.  Hope you enjoy them!

President's Day Learning Ideas

Read some great books about the presidents:

President’s Day by Anne Rockwell
So You Want to Be President? by Judith St. George
Little Patriot Press Books by Peter & Cheryl Barnes– We LOVE these!
I will be sharing their latest book with you in a couple of days.
Lives of the Presidents by Kathleen Krull
Vinnie and Abraham by Dawn Fitzgerald
Rushmore by Lynn Curlee
Duck for President by Doreen Cronin
What Presidents Are Made Of by Hanoch Piven
Hail to the Chief by Don Robb

Download my FREE Sort the Coins by President Printable.

I also made a set of President Trading Cards. Check out the post here to get them!
US-President-Trading-Cards-or-use-for-flashcards-timelines
Play my Race to the Whitehouse game to learn about the presidential elections.

I love the 1+1+1= 1 Calendar Connection Cards.

We are using the president ones this month along with our calendar board.
Collect the President Pez Dispensers!
 President Pez
There are tons of videos about the different presidents at Have Fun With History.
presidential-cookies
These President Cookies were a fun one that we enjoyed making!

Make a cute little Craft Stick Flag.  Just paint and assemble with cardboard on the back, or another popsicle stick going vertically to hold it together.  Use jewels or star stickers for the stars on the flag. We even put magnets on ours and hung it on the fridge.

There are lots of President Coloring pages from Apples 4 the Teacher.  You could make a book of the presidents!

Make this cool Craft Stick White House from Caboose.

Learn the song Hail to the Chief:
Lyrics:
Hail to the Chief we have chosen for the nation,
Hail to the Chief! We salute him, one and all.
Hail to the Chief, as we pledge cooperation
In proud fulfillment of a great, noble call.
Yours is the aim to make this grand country grander,
This you will do, that’s our strong, firm belief.
Hail to the one we selected as commander,
Hail to the President! Hail to the Chief!
Make a Log Cabin there are cute ones made of Popsicle Sticks (easy version) or pretzels (harder).

I found some President Flashcards in the Target Dollar Spot a long time ago.
We took ours out & practiced putting them in order like a president time-line.

Take an Online Whitehouse tour and learn all about where the presidents live.
Here is another fun video from Nickelodeon about the presidents.

I hope you enjoy learning about the great presidents of this nation!

Great ideas! I began making a coin sorting worksheet and then thought, “I bet I can find one.” And I did! 🙂 I think I’ll make a graphing worksheet to go along with it for my kiddos. Just found your website. It’s great!
