Citrus Ice Cream Recipe

Summertime is the best time of year for homemade ice-cream. I have been trying out some fun new ice cream concoctions lately at my house. The latest favorite is my citrus ice cream. It is incredible and so refreshing. I grew up as a Florida girl, so citrus is near and dear to my heart. Since it is so hot this time of year, things tend to get really messy when the kids are eating ice cream. We have been using Wet-Nap wipes to clean up all the sticky hands and faces after a yummy ice cream cone.

Citrus Ice Cream Recipe
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup half-and-half
2 cups orange juice
3/4 cup sugar
Juice and zest from 1 lime
Juice and zest from 1 lemon
1 tablespoon orange zest (if you used fresh squeezed!)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Mix and Freeze according to your ice cream maker’s directions. The zest in this recipe makes it taste so fresh and amazing!! You will love it.
It isn’t a good day if this kid isn’t a complete and total mess at the end. Ice cream is such a delicious mess, though.
Even big sister got a little messy with this one!
She is a little better at keeping her mess under control, though.
Wet-Naps are great to keep on hand for all those messy faces. I love having a pack in the car for emergency messes as well. Wet-Nap face wipes can be found in the napkin aisle at Walmart. They have a coupon right now that you can use to save! Wet-Naps are softer & stronger than ever before. They also have aloe for moisturizing their little hands and faces.
I cannot wait to try this, Karyn! My little guy LOVES orange sherbert but I’m not a fan of the artificial food dye. I just know he’s going to love this (that is, if I share any of it). Thank you!!
