Do you need a little game to keep your kids occupied on a long drive? Â Check out this Road Trip Scavenger Hunt printable for kids! Â It will be a great way to keep younger kids and older kids busy on a long road trip. Also included in this file, is a printable Road Trip Alphabet Game.Â

Where are you headed on your road trip this Summer? Â Whether you are doing a long car trip cross country to see a Florida alligator, (my personal favorite place to go!) or a long car ride to Grandma’s house, this travel scavenger hunt will be the perfect thing to bring on your next trip. Â It will keep kids off their electronic devices for a while and entertained for a long time!Â
If you are a mom or dad of kids of any age (preschoolers, tweens, teens all of them!), you know they need a little entertainment when sitting in a car for such a long time. When you are driving endless miles on a highway you definitely need something to occupy your mind. Even if you have the best audio book or music playlist, it’s nice to have things to do.Â
We are big fans of road trips in our family. Â Check out my Road Trip Packing List post to get that printable and to read some funny stories of past road trip adventures.Â
Road Trip Scavenger Hunt:
This printable road trip game has pictures of 42 items to find throughout your whole road trip in the United States. Â The road trip scavenger hunt list includes items such as road signs, train tracks, bridges, various vehicles like motorcycles, police cars, tractors, and more. It also includes some animals such as birds, horses, and cows. There are buildings to find as well including a gas station, a big city, a motel and a church. There is quite a variety of things that are often seen on any long road trip. Watch out the window as you drive to find all of these items on the kist.Â

I made my Road Trip Scavenger Hunt with colorful pictures, but the words for each item is also written underneath. It’s not just a boring list of items! Â The pictures make it great for young children to do without being able to read well yet.Â
This fun road trip scavenger hunt is something you will want to print out and bring on your next road trip! Â It is great for kids of all ages. Even parents can play and complete with their kids to see who can complete it first! Â Offer incentives such as a prize of a coveted seat in the car, small prizes, or a favorite treat at the next gas station for the first person who completes this printable scavenger hunt. Â
These can be printed on regular paper and work great when clipped onto a clipboard. (I love this clipboard with a pen holder on it.) Â You’ll obviously also need a writing utensil for them. Pens, pencils, even markers work great.Â
Road Trip Alphabet Game:
As I mentioned above, I also included in this printable an alphabet game sheet. Â If you’ve ever lived, then you have played this travel game. But, in case you haven’t (who even are you?!) I’ll explain how it works. As you drive you hunt for words on signs that start with each letter of the alphabet.

This game is great on a short trip or on long car rides, too. The printable page I made, has a line for each letter for kids to write in what they find. Â When we play it, we just do it verbally and it has to be in alphabetical order. However, kids can decide their rules of the game! Families often have their own traditional way to play.Â
