Free Summer I Spy Printable for Kids

Looking for a fun summer activity to keep your kids busy? Today I have a cute Summer I Spy Free Printable for you to use with your kids. It is full of summer themed images for kids to color in and is a great way to keep kids busy on long summer days. 

Summer is the best time of year, full of popsicles, warm sunny days, bike rides and more.  But, with kids out of school, you may need a little bit of help sometimes to keep them occupied. 

Summer I Spy Free Printable:

An I spy coloring page is a fun activity for kids of all ages. They remind me a lot of the Where’s Waldo books I used to pore over as a kids!  I also loved playing I spy games as a child as well as with my own kids when they were younger. Remember this saying: “I spy with my little eye…” ? 

This fun game is is free to print and easy to do. You just need some regular copy paper, a printer, and something to color or draw with.  I like using colored pencils since the pictures are so small. 

This worksheet includes 18 different pictures: ice cream, picnic table, beach ball, baseball, barbecue grill, flip flops, sunshine, sunglasses, watermelon, lemonade, fireworks, shorts, popsicle, sea shell, bike, suitcase, lawn chair and a baseball cap. 

Educational Value of the Summer I Spy Printable:

This printable game is more than just fun.  There are many skills that can be developed and enhanced through I spy activities. 

For classroom use, these I spy game sheets can help kids develop fine motor skills by helping kids color in or circle small object. They can help with math skills and number skills when they are counting the different objects.  Observation skills are developed when they search for the various pictures. Visual perception and visual discrimination are developed when kids are distinguishing the different shapes and objects pictured. This printable worksheet could be used in speech therapy to build summer vocabulary. Or, print it out for an end of the school year activity!

How to Use The Summer I Spy Coloring Pages:

These free printable summer I spy pages are a great as a boredom buster over summer break when you or your kids need a little quiet time. Use them as a rainy day activity. Take them with you on a summer road trip, a plane ride, at the doctor’s office or any other errands.  They would be a great little activity to use at a birthday party, play date, or at summer camps.  Turn it into a game or competition to see who can complete it first!

Make this printable re-usable for multiple kids by printing it on cardstock, laminating it, or slipping it into a dry-erase pocket!
