Magnetic toys are my kids favorites. We love playing with all things magnetic at our house. We just got a couple of sets MagnaflexTM kits in the mail, and my kids dove right in and built like crazy! A few weeks later and they are still a favorite around here. I wanted to do a little learning activity with them for my preschooler, so I made a set of shape building cards to use with our Magnaflex magnet toys. This is a sponsored post in behalf of WowWee.
Have you seen them before? Magnaflex by WowWee are a cool new creative construction kit that is great for ALL ages! They are colourful magnetic strips that bend, zip together on the edges, connect on the sides and stack. Their kits come with fun building ideas and instructions, but you can pretty much build anything you can imagine!
My kids have built animals crowns, a rocket ship and more!
They also include some round metal pieces to use for decorating projects or to add more to the structures. The magnets are surprisingly strong and can even hang off of each other really well.
You can build all kinds of cool sculptures with them.
I thought Magnaflex would be a fun hands-on way to teach my daughter some new shapes. I made these printable shape cards for her. There are 18 different happy face shape cards including the following shapes:
- Equilateral Triangle
- Scalene Triangle
- Right Triangle
- Isosceles Triangle
She loved building with them and learned some new shapes in the process!
These cool magnetic toys are great for taking in the car to travel, could be used easily while in a waiting room or any time you need something easy for kids!
There are all kinds of things you could use these for in teaching: building letters, math and counting practice and even physics activities.
