If you have kids learning to count to 100, this is the perfect math game for them! Â The Space Race to 100 is a simple no-prep counting game that you can play anywhere. You just need one or two dice.
How to Play the Space Race to 100 Counting Game
To play this game, print out the board and the game pieces. Â Grab a pair of dice and you are ready to go!
The game pieces are shooting stars that you just fold in half to stand up. But if you would rather use a small object you have on hand- a button, a coin or small toy would also work great!
Start your game pieces off of the game board. Roll the dice to move around the board. For younger kids just use one die to help them with counting skills. The game just takes a little bit longer.
This is just like a normal hundred chart, except the numbers go back and forth so you can easily move the game pieces around the board.
For older kids, use 2 dice as they can add and count higher numbers.
It’s very simple to get ready and just as easy to play!
Take It Up a Step:
Make this into a more advanced math game by having kids write out addition problems. For instance. If they are on space 25 and they roll a 12 have them write on a piece of paper 25+12=37 before they count out the spaces.
