LEGO Math with Candy

Time for some fun LEGO math!

LEGOs are a perfect tool to use for math lessons!  If you have not yet used them in your math activities, you definitely need to give them a shot!  Then, take it a step further with candy bricks to have an edible LEGO math lesson!

My kids love LEGOS, but LEGO candy is even better, am I right?  They sell these in the bulk candy section at our local grocery store, but you can also get them online.  Everything is so much more fun when it is edible.  🙂   My kids were SO happy to do the math problems because it meant eating that yummy candy after.

I made a little 2-page printable that you can download to use. This Edible LEGO math printable has a page for adding & subtracting the candies.

Page two of the printable is a LEGO brick mosaic. You can use candy or regular bricks for both of these pages.

This is such a fun way to make addition and subtraction lessons a little more interesting and multi-sensory. It’s easy and memorable!

This is a re-post of one of the oldest posts on my site. Here’s a picture of how I originally did it with my kids. You can write it out & do it yourself, too!  Also, don’t be limited by single bricks in your math problems!

Edible Lego? How bizarre! That obviously hasn’t reached Australia yet! But what a cool way of using it.

I have never seen edible legos – how fun! I wonder if they don’t sell them in Colorado?

I have never seen this candy, but I must get some. My son and I just did subtraction problems and he was wanting to add everything. Eating makes it disappear and this really might work! (I mean, we were doing math two minutes ago, literally!) Great idea.
