Let’s make fractions fun! Kids spin, color, and race to complete their spider webs while building fraction fluency.

How to Play the Spider Web Fraction Game

Print one game board per child and one spinner for every 1–2 kids.
Kids can share spinners easily—two per spinner works perfectly!

To use the spinner, place a pencil through the center hole and bend a jumbo paper clip around the tip. Flick the paper clip to spin.

Set Up & Play

1. GEt Supplies to Color your spider webs

Give kids crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
Halloween colors—orange, purple, black, green—make these look especially fun.
Many kids like to create color patterns for each web.

2. Take turns spinning the fraction spinner

The spinner includes fractions such as:

  • 1/4

  • 1/5

  • 1/6

  • 1/8

  • 1/10

  • 1/2

  • 1 whole

3. Match the fraction to a spider web

Each spider web on the page is divided into different numbers of parts:
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 sections.

So:

  • Spin 1/4 → color 1 part of the 4-section web

  • Spin 1/8 → color 1 part of the 8-section web

  • Spin 1/2 → choose any web and color half

  • Spin 1 whole → color an entire web (the best spin!)

4. Keep spinning and coloring

Players continue taking turns until all their spider webs are filled.

5. Optional: Turn it into a race

Kids LOVE this variation!
Set a timer or see who finishes all webs first.
Fast, fun, and sneaks in plenty of fraction practice.
