Let’s have a little fun with math today! This spider web fraction game works great with an insect theme or during Halloween time!
How to Play the Spider Web Fraction Game
Print one copy of the game per person. Also print the included spinner. Kids can share a spinner. Two kids per spinner worked well for us!
To use the spinner, just use a jumbo paper clip and a pencil to hold it in place.
Use crayons or markers to color in the spider webs. My kids wanted Halloween colors to color their webs. They really took their time coloring them in patterns.
You take a turn spinning the spinner, then color in the matching section of a fraction. The page has spiders webs with 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 parts. So, if you spin 1/4 you color in a section on the web with 4 parts. If you spin 1/2, you can choose a web and color in half of it. If you spin 1 whole, you can color in an entire web. This is the best spin to get! 🙂
Turn it into a competition. My kids raced to see who would finish first and that made it a whole lot more fun for them!
