DIY Patriotic Confetti Popper (Toilet Paper Roll Craft)

Empty toilet paper roll (or paper towel tube cut in half)

How to Make the Confetti Popper
Watch it in Action:
1. Prep the Balloon
Tie the end of a balloon (just like you would before blowing it up). Then cut off the rounded top portion of the balloon, leaving the tied end intact.
2. Attach the Balloon to the Tube
Stretch the open end of the balloon over one end of the toilet paper roll. Make sure it’s snug, then secure it with tape to hold it in place. It can go over or under your decorations. Either way works just fine.Â
3. Decorate the Tube
Wrap the outside of the toilet paper roll with patriotic paper, paint it, color it with markers, use stickers. Add stars, stripes, or glitter for extra sparkle.
4. Fill with Confetti
Turn the tube upright and fill it with a small handful of red, white, and blue confetti. I used a star punch and cut up our scrapbook paper for the confetti. You could also use tissue paper paper circles from a hole punch, or bits of curling ribbon.Â
5. Launch the Confetti!
Hold the tube with one hand, pull down on the knotted balloon with the other, then let go. Watch the confetti fly!
